An Introduction to Biological Anthropology | From Human Evolution to Apes
How does biological anthropology help us understand humans and their place in the evolutionary process? In this conversation, Erfan Khosravi and Mohammad Hossein Kazeroun take an evolution-oriented look at human behavior and biology in comparison with other apes.
About this video
Biological anthropology is one of the branches of anthropology that studies humans from a biological and evolutionary perspective. By examining human physical characteristics, behavior, biological diversity, and evolutionary history, this field seeks to clarify the place of humans among other primates and within the tree of evolution.
In this conversation, Erfan Khosravi and Mohammad Hossein Kazeroun introduce biological anthropology and take an evolution-oriented look at human behavior and biology. One of the main axes of the discussion is the comparison of humans with other apes and the examination of their similarities and differences from a biological and behavioral perspective.
Studying humans from this angle can help in better understanding the origin of human behaviors, our biological characteristics, and the link between humans and other primates. Biological anthropology also shows that understanding humans without considering their evolutionary history and biological context yields an incomplete picture of human nature.
