Life and Thought
Iraj Rezaei is an Iranian researcher and lecturer in Persian language and literature, a university faculty member with a PhD in Persian language and literature from the University of Tehran. His area of specialization is Islamic mysticism, particularly Rumi studies, and for over two decades he has been engaged in studying Rumi's works and thought, presenting lectures and research on his worldview.
Iraj Rezaei is a researcher and lecturer in Persian language and literature and Islamic mysticism. He received his PhD in Persian language and literature from the University of Tehran and is a university faculty member. A significant part of his scholarly and teaching activities is devoted to the study of Persian mystical literature, especially the works and thought of Jalal al-Din Muhammad Balkhi (Rumi).
Rezaei has identified Rumi studies as his specialized field of research and has been continuously engaged with Rumi's works for over twenty years. According to the Soroush Mowlana Institute, he has delivered numerous lectures and published articles in academic and cultural centers on Rumi's worldview and has also pursued a long-term research project on human interactions and relationships in Rumi's works and thought. He has conducted courses and classes on Rumi and mysticism at the same institute.
Rezaei's writings extend beyond Rumi studies and encompass subjects such as Persian literature, art, culture, and mystical experience. In his published notes, literature as an art form is considered an open and interpretable realm that can expand the horizon of human experience beyond the limits of individual lived experience and contribute to understanding, tolerance, and the convergence of human mental horizons. His writings also show particular attention to Hafez, Saadi, Ferdowsi, and other figures of classical Persian literature.
