You choose a bus by its destination, not by its brand, comfort, or level of hospitality!

I read Mr. Babaei's response to Mr. Nasiri's critique. This piece was worthy of reflection, and even defensible, because it pointed to an important issue!

Mr. Babaei entered through the door of demanding accountability, asking Mr. Nasiri to stop the slogans, the repetition of ideals, and the flaunting of aspirations, and to speak of methods and programs, and also what plan he has for the wretched human being in the present age to lead him to spiritual perfection and divine civilization. Incidentally, I too agree with this statement.

We have, of course, become enamored with our own theological slogans. Such as that religion is complete and comprehensive of all material and spiritual human needs. That justice, in its true and lasting sense, is realized in the divine religions. But our jurisprudence, which is the showcase of our civilizational slogans, is not moved to ecstasy by these words, makes no move, and offers no plan!

But dear Mr. Babaei; I do not know about you, but when I go to the terminal, before anything else, I ask about the destination of the vehicles, and I do not think about their brand, the facilities they have, their level of hospitality, or even the degree of their courtesy and respect!

If the bus's destination is south, I will undoubtedly not board it; because I need to go north. Even if the northbound vehicle is frail and even if they do not show me courtesy, I still prefer it over the southbound one. However, if I am a wise person, I will try to improve the northbound buses as well; not change my destination altogether for the sake of comfort and security!!

My brother, the situation between us and the West is of this kind. God Almighty speaks in the Quran of nations, none of whom left the prophets (PBUH) without mockery and harassment: "يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلاَّ كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ" (Ya-Sin, 30)

If these nations build skyscrapers that pierce the heart of the sky, if they establish a justice that divides an atom's weight of good equally, if they provide a welfare where the walls and doors of their houses are of gold and silver, still, for the divine human being who follows the prophets, it holds no allure.

Of course, you are right, the majority of people follow after this vehicle. Just as throughout history, they rejected the prophets (PBUH). Even though the prophets (PBUH) did have plans. If you doubt it, review the history of Islam!

The shroud of the Seal of the Prophets (PBUH) was not yet dry when they abandoned his daughter between the door and the wall! God Almighty Himself says that were it not for the fear that all people, due to weakness of faith, would fall into disbelief, He would have undoubtedly made the doors and walls of their houses of gold and silver.

Yes, people like me, who are not seeking to justify the shortcomings of the seminary, jurisprudence, and juristic scholarship, and are weary of slogans without operational backing, have one major difference with Your Excellency and those like you.

And that is, with faith in that sacred theological slogan and that God Almighty, despite all of humanity's scientific limitations, intense material inclinations, and weakness of faith, does not leave man without a plan in any arena; we strive to write the practical program of religion for the administration of human society, and of course, until this program is written or reaches the stage of implementation, we will not surrender to Western civilization nor be overawed by it.

We prefer living in the tin-shack town of religion over living in the sky-scraping towers of the atheistic Western civilization. For the end of the West is the world, and the world is perishable!
