Reaction of the Academic Staff of the Iranian Institute of Philosophy to Khosropanah's Response to Critics

Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Mr. Abdolhossein Khosropanah, the head of the Iranian Institute of Philosophy and Wisdom, in response to critics of his works, has attributed the root of some of the criticism to "the serious efforts of this administration to implement the Ministry of Science's directives regarding the fulfillment of duties and the presence of academic staff members at the Institute." His scholarly issues are, of course, separate from the Institute's managerial problems. However, given that he believes "the story of the past week will continue," and since it is not appropriate to refer to the Institute's academic staff and introduce them in this manner, the undersigned request that he refrain from dragging the Institute's academic staff into his remarks against critics.

*Mehr News Agency, on March 5, 2018, had published Abdolhossein Khosropanah's response to critics of his works, but this news agency, merely with the explanation that "unfortunately, publishing this letter in Mehr is not possible," refused to publish a short response from some of the Institute's academic staff to him. Therefore, this response has been published in Sedanet and some other news agencies and media outlets under circumstances where Mehr News Agency, contrary to customary practice, has refused to publish it.
