Reza Samim, born January 1982, is an Iranian sociologist and a faculty member at the Institute for Cultural and Social Studies of the Ministry of Science, holding the rank of Associate Professor. Since 2025, he has also been appointed by the President of the University of Tehran as an affiliated faculty member of the University of Tehran's College of Fine Arts. His research interests include cultural sociology, the sociology of art and literature, and the history of culture in contemporary Iran.

He believes that the sociological analysis of literary and artistic works should not be limited solely to the theme or social context of the work, but must also consider the internal mechanisms of the work and the way meaning is formed within it.
His research areas and scholarly activities include generational studies, public culture, cultural production and consumption, music, art, and literature. The book "Generational Encounters and Political Stability in Contemporary Iran" and his research on Iranian culture and society are part of his effort to link sociology with cultural studies and art criticism.
Reza Samim's position in the contemporary Iranian humanities landscape can be traced through his endeavor to create a dialogue between sociology, literary theory, cultural studies, and the analysis of social experiences in contemporary Iran.
