Life and Thought Alasdair Chalmers MacIntyre was a Scottish-American philosopher and one of the leading figures in contemporary moral philosophy, known for reviving virtue ethics and reinterpreting the thought of Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas. He was the author of *After Virtue* and taught at prestigious universities around the world.
