Masoud Zanjani is a researcher, teacher, and writer of philosophy. For years, alongside teaching and research, he has strived to bring philosophy from the specialized, academic sphere closer to a more vivid realm of human experience—a realm where philosophy is not merely the history of thought or a collection of theories, but a way of seeing, living, and transforming. His primary concern along this path has been the dialogue between philosophy, literature, art, mysticism, and lived human experience.
A significant part of his oral and written work has taken shape within a project titled "Long Live Philosophy" (Zendeh Bad Falsafeh)—a continuous series of lectures, talks, essays, and writings in which the history of philosophy is not pursued in a linear, purely academic manner, but thought is reread in dialogue with literature, poetry, myth, religion, mysticism, cinema, and life. Some of these works have been published previously, while others are in the process of publication and completion as new books and collections.
Alongside this path, "Varzeh" is a project born from his long-standing relationship with books and libraries—an attempt to understand the book not merely as a repository of information, but as a possibility for cultivating the mind and soul. Varzeh is the fruit of years of collecting, reading, classifying, and conversing with books and ideas, and in its vision, the library is more than a collection of books; it is a space for practicing thought and living. The written and cultural activities related to this project, alongside the published works, continue to expand and be released.
For Zanjani, these two paths are ultimately inseparable: "Long Live Philosophy" is more concerned with speaking and thinking philosophy, and "Varzeh" with reading and living it. The result of both is an effort to restore philosophy to its older and broader meaning: philosophy not just as knowing something about the world, but as a kind of cultivation of the self in relation to truth, beauty, and life.
